An EPC assessment typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes. The time is dependent on the size and complexity of the property. The smaller the property, the quicker it will be assessed. Commercial or larger properties will take slightly longer. The assessor will look at the major areas that impact energy efficiency within this timeframe.

An EPC is valid for 10 years from when it is issued. It remains valid until the property has been subject to significant improvements that have an impact on energy usage, such as a replacement boiler or installing insulation.
